Abstract:

In this Occasional Paper, Ben Scott addresses critical reforms needed in Australia’s intelligence landscape to adapt to the evolving information era.

Ben highlights the urgency of redefining our National Intelligence Community (NIC) to better navigate the complexities of the digital age. He emphasises the need to rebalance our approach by prioritising open-source intelligence (OSINT) and suggests the establishment of a dedicated OSINT agency within the NIC.
