Dr Jennifer Hunt talks to BBC Radio Scotland on the recent civil unrest in Charlottesville Virginia and the response from President Trump. Dr Hunt reminds us that General Robert E Lee, around whose statue the Neo Nazi rally took place, opposed the placing of Confederate monuments and warned that they would be divisive. As a Southerner herself, Dr Hunt believes that some things belong on pedestals whilst other things belong in museums.
