Bespoke and international programs

National Security College Building

The National Security College’s tailor-made policy programs are designed for a range of public and private sector clients to build capacity, facilitate dialogue or shared analytical problem-solving within or amongst agencies and even countries. We can customise our existing courses or work with you to develop new programs that meet your organisation’s needs.

All programs are designed, facilitated and evaluated by a highly professional team including seconded officials from the national security community. We draw upon diverse sources of experience and insight from senior national security practitioners from the Commonwealth, state and territory governments, academics, former political leaders, civil society and industry and we are continuously sourcing new expertise. We tailor a unique program incorporating the latest teaching methods, including syndicate activities, panel discussions, site visits, hypotheticals and scenarios, to test and develop ideas. The NSC’s track record in this area includes:

  • tailored graduate training programs, such as for the departments of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Defence

  • analytical workshops on complex policy issues

  • futures scenario workshops

  • diplomatic capacity-building programs for officials from multiple regional countries to build shared understandings of security perspectives and challenges.

These programs can be delivered at a classified or unclassified level either in-house at your organisation, at the National Security College, or at other locations in Australia or overseas. For further information and a confidential consultation, please contact a member of our experienced learning and development team.
