Foreign Minister delivers major policy speech at NSC

Australia and the world in the time of COVID-19

In 2020, events have brought to the fore the vital role of international cooperation and the magnitude of the consequences if our global institutions fail.

In a foreign policy speech on the COVID-19 period and beyond, the Foreign Minister — Senator the Hon Marise Payne — outlined Australia’s agenda, including the central focus of our national interests and the importance of global institutions delivering on their mandates.

Following her speech, the Minister was joined in conversation by Professor Rory Medcalf, Head of the National Security College.

A recording of the event can be accessed on the ANU TV YouTube channel.

Transcripts of the Minister’s speech and conversation with Professor Medcalf are also available.
